Party Like It's 1999

Well, sorta... I just recently got out of a YouTube bender looking up eurodance tracks from the mid-90s to mid-00s and this is what came up. If this happens to inspire any discotheque adventures, be sure to bring your best look.

10. "Believe" by Cher (1998)

This is the song that got me started down this rabbit-hole after it was featured in the Stuff You Should Know podcast on Auto-Tune.

9. "Heaven (Bryan Adams Cover)" by DJ Sammy and Yanou featuring Do (2001)

Speaking of podcasts and things worth having an understanding about, this song closed a recent episode of Catholic Stuff You Should Know while the original was used as its opener.

8. "Tubthumping" - Chumbawmba (1997)

I'm guessing this song was everyone's excuse for getting drunk during the '98 FIFA World Cup in France.

7. "Clint Eastwood" - Gorillaz (2001)

I know this is more trip-hop, but it still has the right electro-feel to make it into this list.

6. "Weapon of Choice" - Fatboy Slim (2001)

Christopher Walken dancing. 'Nuff said.

5. "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65 (1999)

A lyric video... because subtitles were totally necessary...

4. "One More Time" by Daft Punk (2001)

My second favorite song with the same title, right after Joe Jackson's.

3. "Better Off Alone" by Alice DeeJay (2000)

10 words. Instant hit.

2. "White Flag" - Dido (2003)

This is what I imagine a 90s-esque club would play as a "slow song" to signal closing time.

1. "Sandstorm" - Darude (2000)

"What's the name of this song?" - An internet troll's favorite question

Honorable Mention: "What is Love" by Haddaway (1993)

Technically an early-90s song, no eurodance list would be complete without this ode to tragic romances and hesitant advances.

You're never gonna keep me down,
Kelvin
